Hello, I am Christian S. Miller, and for those in the Caribbean, you may remember when I was the Managing Director Desalcott - the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, where we built and operated the US$140 million 110,000 cubic meter per day seawater reverse osmosis system at Point Lisas Trinidad; the largest desalination plant in the Western Hemisphere.
I been in the desalination business since 1972 where we built Polymetrics Inc., the firm that pioneered the commercialization of reverse osmosis membrane technology. In 1983, I co-founded Aqua Design which constructed and owned 32 plants on 10 Caribbean Islands and provided emergency water supply for the US Navy base at Guantanemo. I was also a technical consultant to Hyflux of Singapore when they first ventured into seawater desalination.
My firend and colleague Dean Bedford has recently founded Gemini Seawater Systems. I relied heavily on Dean when we had difficult situations because of his extensive theoritical knowledge of the technologies involved in desalination and his practical experience in solving problems related to desalination plant operations and plant redesign and modernization. Dean has teamed up with James Chua to develop the Pacific markets to provide owners and users of desalination plants with the most cost effective technology to modernize their plants.
